The 5th of May is liberation day in The Netherlands. To celebrate that we have a music festival. Bevrijdingspop started small in the 80’s, and now attracts 140,000 visitors. With four stages and many acts there is a lot to see all day long. I only focused on the Haarlem Talentshow. It was open for everybody between the age of 6 and 16 with talent for music or dance! The selected talents were coached in preparation of the big day. Hart Talent on Tour talents were added to the show.
Every Hart Talent on Tour starts with the opening song with all participants and today was no exception. To keep the momentum the band DRT continued with their own song. Interviewed about their songwriting, they all claimed that was easy and pointed to their guitarist Joaquin. He also confirmed it was easy for him to write and compose music.
Lily, supported by Sanne Vera on keys, sang Mijn Kleine Presidentje, a cover which very well fits today’s world. This slow song, which makes you listen, gave time to catch your breath. Next up was Bobby. She can sing, she can dance and has energy for ten! She gave a great performance.
Bobby energizes the stage and so do Maral and Sushanti. With a great medley of all Dutch songs they like got the whole audience to sing along. Four girls used AI to compose a song about springtime and created a choreography for it. It was very easy according to them… they just practiced a lot.
The final artist of this talent presentation was Evi on ukulele. The MC of the day, presenting all acts during all day and interviewing the talents was the Notulist! Together with Gene Power and Maartje Keijzer, he coaches the talents on their tour to success.
