Briljant Koningsdagfestival 2018

Although café Briljant closed its doors for the last time in 2017 the Briljant Koningsdagfestival at the Nieuwe Kerksplein in Haarlem is still very much alive! Celebrating the kings birthday with traditional ingredients:

  • Bands
  • Beer
  • Burgers

The first band which took the stage at noon was the Evil Empire Orchestra. With music to dance to and a frontlady which makes you listen to the lyrics they gave a great show. The mysterious tent was the stage for the singer songwriters. Dan German shared a good selection of his repertoire from outlaw songs to something sort of romantic.

The next band was Sitting on a Duck. Looking for a soul/funk/disco/pop/rock medley loving cover band? Look no further! Next in the tent was Mark Werkman who, which is new for him, opened his set with four songs in Dutch.

I left early to avoid the rain and get much-needed sleep. More photo’s of the event and the Koningsdag celebaration in Haarlem visit Haarlemse Evenementen in Beeld.
