Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem: Open Mic Night XXIII

The sixth day of march was the first Tuesday of the month, which is the evening of the Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem Open Mic Night at café Lokaal in Haarlem.

Dan German had to get his emotional songs out of his system. He sang about Christmas, a bank robber who wanted to hang out more with his son which is hard when you are on the run and a bastard son who became an outlaw. He even shared two of his one minute wonders to make sure P!en had time to prepare. P!en shared pleasant jazzy songs. Rob Wtenweerde choose a different path to please the crowd. His songs are stuffed with creative play on words.

Mark Werkman shared his opinion of millennials in a song. Hopefully Annelies learns to listen to more people than herself. He also shared a songs with an unexpected subject… the Volvo Ocean  Race. Thomas Triemstra was back with news songs! Gwan Brandhorst likes songs which tell a good story and that involves a lot of lyrics. Every month it amazes me he can remember these mini novels.

Ellis Freijser can make a song about anything. Did you know you can find love in the paint store? Anneke shared two covers and an original. Great powerful music. Paul Baarn is used to the stage, but this was the first time he didn’t share it. He did two originals in Dutch and it went perfect.

Rob Alphenaar did a double shift, both presenting the night and beer consultant.
