De Keuken – 07

17 November 2025

De Keuken (Kitchen) is a DIY broedplaats and a safe space to showcase new work and experiment. This is an almost monthly returning event at the Pletterij in Haarlem.

Marna van Hai painted and during the pandemic, as there was nothing to do and nowhere to go, she learned herself to make animations. A friend wrote a story to fit her paintings and Hunter Complex composed the soundtrack. All combined it was a great story about a mouse visiting the big city. No worries in Oars & Ears the mouse ends up in a good place.

Remy Stroomer and Däcker improvised on piano and electronic equipment. Besides playing piano as one would expect the instrument was used in less conventional ways. It was interesting and pleasant to the ear.

Lengleng studied jazz in the US and is doing a master in electronic music in Amsterdam. Behind a table full of analog synths and some extra equipment she created beautiful soundscapes with… jazz influences.

Glice and Coen Oscar Polack once played at the release party of the album of a friend and all participating artists had to do something with a musical. They choose Miss Saigon (Schönberg), and added the song Hamburger Lady (Throbbing Gristle) and the Helikopter-Streichquartett (Stockhausen).

As bonus Uw Verslaggever Ter Plaatse, who happened to be in the audience, closed out the night with a poem create on the spot about an observation he made that night there and then.

The evening was, as always, curated and hosted by Martijn Comes!
