Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem: Open Mic Night XXIV

The first Tuesday of the month Café Lokaal opens its door and mics for the Open Mic Night organised by the Singer Songwriter Cirkel Haarlem. Lucas van Rens opened the night on guitar and piano. He was not only opening the evening. He was also participating in an Open Mic for the first time in his life! Dan German shared new material and it was also the night to launch of his brand new clothing line! The fans can now easily recognize each other with the cool t-shirt.

Vos is a duo. They played in variuous bands, but never together. They picked Lokaal for their first live show! Rob Wtenweerde spend to much time on YouTube and Soundcloud. The language bender managed to add advertisement to his set!

De As shared sad songs about life in a rock/blues style on a twelve string guitar. There is hope in the music, but not in the lyrics. Great. Dutch Cassidy shared songs he created during this years and earlier years February Album Writing Month.  He also wrote an ode to Madrid.

Thomas Triemstra brought a good mix of originals and covers. As the night was one filled with firsts, there was also a last. Thomas played Leila, by Eric Clapton, for the last time ever. Which is a pity as I liked his version.

Jasper Schalks was the master of ceremony and Rob Alphenaar was sound engineer while running the café.
