The Houtfestival is the place to be on Fathersday in Haarlem. It brings music from all around the world and it is not what you will see at every festival or hear on the radio all day what ever channel you choose. This year the festival was a bit smaller due to financial constraints, but the weather was perfect. So, not having big tents was not a problem.
The opening of the festival was done by Hart Talent on Tour in the limited time of twenty minutes. Click on the link for their photos:

The first act after Hart Talent on Tour was Rebetiko Against The Machine. They bring traditional Greek folk music, but add a rock twist to it.
Bibikov & Augenapfel is a project of Ferrie Heyne (The Kift) and Luc Ex (ex-The Ex). It is the story about how the mountaineers Bibikov and Augenapfel met. This performance is part storytelling and part song. Definitely something to see when they pop-up in your area!
Creative Collective Wakker had a poetry container with the name “Het Mystiek Poëzie Circus”. A quiet place at the festival where you could sit down and write a poem. It didn’t end there, your poem was read aloud!
Muovipussi was the loudest band I saw at the festival. Swinging from rap to doom metal and everything in between this electronic band brings energy and fun all the way from Finland.
