Again it was time for a loud pro-choice protest as the pro-life movement was having a silent march in The Hague. Last year the pro-choice movement had a relatively small noise protest. In a year a lot has changed. The next generation Dolle Mina’s organized themselves and put femicide and equal pay back on the agenda. No discussion they wouldn’t support the pro-choice movement. They came out with 2000 strong.
This made it a lot harder for the pro-life silent march to ignore the noise. The protest are separated by a canal. A few pro-life people protested from the other side with big signs, pre-printed of course, with their propaganda. At the pro-choice protest Rebekka was one of the speakers. She grew up in a pro-life family and was raised with the propaganda and horror of abortion. Until she got old enough to questions what she was told. She used the internet to learn all about it and saw the big gap between the propaganda and reality.
Beside her a lot of organizations were represented and took the stage, like the Bloemenhove Kliniek, where pro-lifers harass visiting pregnant women on a regular basis. In the pro-life section of the photos you will see a woman holding a fetus doll. By the look of it, it is 25 weeks old. You can’t ‘just’ have an abortion from 25 weeks and up in The Netherlands.
