“Blief mit dien klaauwen van vraauwen!”
Rotterdam is not the only location where the Dolle Mina’s protest against femicide. On Sunday august 17, 2025, about 250 kilometer north north east of Rotterdam, a protest was held in Groningen to represent the northern provinces Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe.
After the opening the names were read aloud of all women and children who were victim of femicide or missing in these three provinces. Marian Stoppelenburg told about her daughter and the red flags in the daughters relationship. Her daughter didn’t make it and her daughters partner took his own life.
Like in Rotterdam the march through the city made the figure eight, cause every eight days a woman is murdered by her partner.
At the end of the march singer Marlene Bakker closed the event with the song “You don’t own me“, by Lesley Gore, supported by the 800 attendees.
