Hart Talent at Surfana

12-14 September 2025

Surfana is a hotspot at the beach in Bloemendaal and they organise a three day festival with workshops, good food and many performances in september. Hart Talent on Tour had the privilege to do two sets, one on Friday and one on Sunday afternoon.

On Friday morning I almost abandoned all hope as it was raining very hard when I woke up. But, rain or shine…, I went to Bloemendaal in the afternoon… in perfect late summer weather.

The Notulist traditionally opened the show with a song about Hart Talent on Tour. Next up was Maral who got the audience to immediately sing along with a cover of “Dat heb jij gedaan” by Meau. King Crown has a completely different style than Maral. He raps and gave a great show. Milou shared a few songs with the audiance.

Olijf was the latest discovery of Gene Power, who together with the Notulist, is the driving force behind Hart Talent on Tour. He found her in on of his dance classes where she asked if she could play the piano during the break. He directly wanted her to join the tour. She writes her own songs, but choose four covers. She played them like she wrote and lived them herself! A great surprise to close out the Friday show.

The Sunday afternoon, with again great weather, Hart talent on Tour opened with Sem Pedal. Instrumental music with drum, keyboard and bass guitar or.. just drum and two bass guitars! Does that work? Yes, check them out when they play in your area!

Elena always shows the story of the song in her expression and movement. She started solo and was joined by Reinout on guitar. Sanne Vera just did one song. “Take me Home, Country Roads”, the John Denver classic and the audience sang along with her. Leela always delivers and gave a good show.

When Leaf is on stage you can see the emotions of the song is, you don’t have to listen to the lyrics. “Somebody to Love” by Queen worked like a charm and the audience sang along as loud as possible.

To capture an audience with your own songs, which they never heard, is difficult, but Lyen, Olivia, Katia and Sanne aka LOKS, did it and blew the audience away. A perfect way to close the second Hart Talent on Tour set at the Surfana Festival.
